Dog Walking

Our walking services are very flexible. we can cater for dogs that are happy to be on their own as a 1 to 1 walk or, for those that can get anxious or over excited in groups, we can do ‘Companion Walks‘, where there is only 2 dogs together. No more than 4 dogs will be walked together on a group walk, unless there is an addition from the same household and the dogs together are manageable. Our priority is to give the dogs our full attention and this does get harder with a bigger group.

We try to vary walking locations as much as possible and also to find places which are quieter, helping those nervous ones. During the walk we tend to get them stimulated with their surroundings and use treats for them to do search work, getting their noses working is great mental stimulation.
Please note, all treats we use are natural and low fat, sometimes we use small carrot pieces for those that like their veggies.

We can adapt the time of the walk to suit the dog’s needs, whether they are elderly or a youngster.

They may only need a walk around the block but that walk could take up to an hour if they like to stop and sniff – this can be just as good for a dog and as tiring as those that just want to run. After seeing how tired our collie can be after a scent or mantrailing session, it makes us appreciate its nice to keep it varied, especially for those excitable ones.

Unfortunately during those winter months they often do get wet and muddy but we have warm water shower facilities on board and plenty of towels so we can rinse them off and towel them dry as much as we can when they return home.

We will take plenty of photos and videos when they are out with us and am happy to give you updates after their adventures.

All dogs will remain on a lead throughout the walk until we are happy and comfortable they can come off. Obviously, if your instruction is for them to remain on a lead we are happy to do this. Their safety is priority so if your dog has a poor recall we would like to be told. They will still have plenty of fun on a lead and we have plenty of longer leads on board so they can still go off and explore but remain
safe. We do not use flexi-leads.

We drive a Citroen Dispatch (Dizzy for short) and he has plenty of room on board to cater for up to 4 medium sized dogs nicely. He is fully crated and is insured to cover our dog walking and transportation business, so they are in safe hands on the road. All crates have plenty of vet bedding and cushions etc, we believe in them being transported in luxury. We have recently added another vehicle, a VW Caddy van, (Wilbur). He also contains four crates, two smaller and two large.

Payment can be made via BACS.

For regular weekly bookings – We would raise an invoice at the end of each month and payment would be required 5 days from receipt of invoice.
If a day has to be cancelled by the owner, as long as we receive 48hrs notice, there would be no charge.
We would obviously need more notice if the cancellation is for a few weeks (e.g. holiday etc.).
There would be no charge at short notice if the dog is lame or is poorly and cannot join it’s regular walk.

For one-off bookings – payment is required within 5 days and an invoice will be raised weekly.

We are fully insured, hold an up to date Canine First Aid Certificate and am also fully DBS Checked.
